Consumer Perceptions of the Banking Industry During the Coronavirus

In the face of daunting challenges and economic uncertainty brought on by the Coronavirus pandemic, one thing is clear, consumers are calling upon the banking industry for support to help them navigate through this crisis and safeguard their financial futures. Key findings from our syndicated research on consumer perceptions of the banking industry indicate that, so far, the industry is measuring up.

Consumers recognize the industry’s efforts to listen, understand, and address their most urgent banking needs. Overall, impressions of the industry’s response to the crisis are positive and, for some, perceptions of their primary banking institution are better today than before the Coronavirus. Still, improvement opportunities exist to further address consumer needs going forward. The goal of our multi-wave research is to provide insights into consumers’ perceptions to help banking institutions as they continue responding to the financial implications of the global crisis.
