IT Support Intern

Description: Come intern with us! The Dieringer Research Group, Inc. (The DRG), a 40+ year leader in the marketing research field providing qualitative and quantitative services, is excited to offer an internship opportunity for an IT Support Intern for Summer 2019. We have a great group of curious, creative, hard-working people here ready to welcome you to the team.

Responsibilities:

During your time at The DRG, you will have the opportunity to focus on these key responsibilities:

  • Performing front-line help desk duties in a Microsoft Windows environment troubleshooting technical issues, and other various technical tasks
  • Assisting the Technical Services team with larger projects
  • Assisting with bookkeeping of hardware and software assets
  • Assisting in the configuration and deployment of hardware and software
  • Working under the immediate direction of the department manager or coordinator, assisting clients or guests that may require technical assistance
  • Maintaining and troubleshooting portions of the file server, business applications, and network infrastructure

You will also expand your experience by:

  • Assisting with updating internal documents
  • Attending Technical Services’ department meetings
  • Assisting/shadowing in other departments
  • Meeting with members of our senior management team
  • Participating in The DRG’s community service and social events

Educational Requirements:

  • Pursuing a degree in an IT related program

Experience Requirements:

  • No experience required

Desired Skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and take direction in a fast-paced, team environment
  • High attention to detail and a focus on quality

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within information technology
  • Comfortable troubleshooting Microsoft Windows and Office software
  • Able to consult documentation to find solutions for common technical problems
  • Have a friendly demeanor, especially when interacting with staff and clients
  • Approved background check

Hours: Full-time, 30-40 hours per week
