Reporting to the Director of Employee Services, the Benefits Administrator is responsible for the administration of all company benefit programs, compliance audits, and reporting.   • Ensures timely and accurate processing of employee enrollment and status changes for our medical, dental, vision, life, disability, retirement, and other benefit plans
  • Responds to employee inquiries and acts as a liaison between employees and our vendors
  • Actively participates in the annual benefit renewal process in collaboration with the Director of Employee Services and our benefits broker
  • Serves as the point of contact for our FMLA, Leave of Absence, and Worker’s Compensation programs
  • Reviews and responds to unemployment claims
  • Responsible for regulatory and legal compliance of employee benefit plans and wellness programs including ERISA, COBRA, FSA, and OSHA
  • Assists with annual reporting and discrimination testing for insurance and retirement plans
  • Develops and delivers ongoing benefit education materials and training in partnership with our benefits brokers
  • Ensures ACA compliance, including ACA reporting and keeping current with ACA regulations and changes
  • Processes employee salary and status changes in DRG and benefit systems and serves as the HR liaison with our payroll department
  • Works with payroll and finance departments to research and implement requirements for employees and vendors outside of Wisconsin
  • Oversees employees benefit time programs such as PTO and holiday pay
  • Performs internal audits to ensure contract compliance
  • Works to understand current software systems to ensure they are being optimized to meet the department needs
  • Researches and proposes new vendors, as appropriate
  • Supports, communicates, and reinforces the mission, values, and culture of The DRG

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree

Experience Requirements:

  • 3+ years of benefits administration (preferred)


  • Demonstrated ability to identify problematic issues, providing research, and following through to resolution
  • Ability to discuss sensitive issues with employees
  • Demonstrated integrity and ethics in handling confidential information
  • Understands the impact of benefits’ decisions to the corporation and employees
  • Strong organizational skills to coordinate and prioritize a variety of responsibilities simultaneously
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and apply new technologies
  • Effective communication skills
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite of products
  • Demonstrated ability to be proactive and make decisions
  • Preferably, experience in insurance and retirement benefit administration and leave management.
